A message from Linda, January 1, 2023:

What an incredible twelve year run with Back Bay Betty! It is now time to let everyone know that I have made the difficult decision to stop performing in this project. I want to express my deepest gratitude for every one of our fans, the amazing venues and the talented players whom I have been so fortunate to share the stage with.

I grew up here in Baywood and played the piano and sang in church with my sisters as a child. My parents gifted me with piano lessons from Los Osos legends Ruby Bumpus, Pat Korisheli and Barbara Hoff throughout my adolescence. I won the lead roll in the musical play "Annie" while attending Baywood Elementary School, and remember belting out the song "Tomorrow" like there was no tomorrow... lol! I performed with the music and drama departments at Los Osos Middle School and Morro Bay High School under the expert guidance of Carol Tingle, Botso Korisheli and Bob Sando. I enjoyed a music scholarship to Azusa Pacific University, toured with the women's music program there, and worked on a music minor and nursing major. I sang and played the piano and organ at church while raising my young family. I became a "good girl gone bad" and left the church to perform in bars (ha!) with my medical colleagues in the band The Bluz Dogz, before helping to establish Back Bay Betty. I am eternally grateful to every person who has encouraged me on my journey. For me, it's always been about the music!

My life is now moving into the next phase of dream pursuits, including traveling, spending more time with friends and family and investing more creative energy into my acoustic folk duo, BAY LOVE (baylove.net), with my partner Kevin. I look forward to joining many of you at more fantastic local concerts (now I'll have time!), and count my blessings that I live in such a gorgeous and creative community with so many wonderful artists to enjoy and collaborate with!

Please help me say goodbye to Back Bay Betty at our farewell concert at Sea Pines Golf Resort in Los Osos on July 1st from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm! I will miss this epic band big time! All of our music is free to download at backbaybetty.com, and we will have FREE CD's to gift you at the concert!

Peace, love, music,

Linda
